Ulun Danau Beratan Temple is one of Bali’s landmarks. The temple is located on the west bank of Lake Beratan in the mountains near Bedugul, and its position in the lake can give the illusion of swimming on the water. The journey takes a whole day because the temple is located about 57 km from Seminyak and can be ideally combined with other attractions on the way.
The temple, built-in 1633, is dedicated to the goddess of the lake, Ida Batara Dewi Ulun Danu in Balinese. It is 1200 m above sea level and has a cooler tropical climate than the coastal areas.
