Tegenungan Waterfall
Tegenungan waterfall is the largest waterfall by volume and closest to the tourist enclaves in the south of the island, including Seminyak, Legian, Kuta, and Sanur.
To get to This spot, drive from Denpasar to Kemenuh Village in Gianyar. The journey takes only 16 km or about 30 minutes. You will need to go down a series of steps to get to the river in about 15 minutes, and then walk along the river bank to the base of the falls
Be careful please, when the river flows heavily after rainfall, the current is exceptionally strong. Therefore, only cross the river to climb the waterfalls from the opposite bank if you really know what you are doing.

- Bathing – The beauty of the waterfall becomes apparent after more than 150 steps. When visitors come in, there are some bathing areas around the waterfall. The bathing areas are separated in an open space with the freshwater led by the waterfall.
Taking a dip here is a good choice for visitors after swimming in front of the waterfall. Not only the visitors but also the locals around the waterfall use the bathing area every day
- Swimming – Although the water runoff is fairly rapid, many visitors still come to swim in the pond. The depth of the pond is not that deep, so swimming in the area must be fun and safe at the same time.
Visitors can even go to the edge of the cliff and get wet near the falling water. Visitors cannot swim in another hike, even on the edge of the pond.
- Photography – Since the place offers a picturesque view of nature, many people come to this place to take photos. There are some favorite places to take pictures, like stacking stones.
